One of my favorite winter scenes in East Gloucester is Niles Pond. The ocean water freezes creating a white blanket below the beautiful pink sunsets I see there. The million dollar grays of the ice intensify the blue sky above. It can be so quiet with only the sound of the distant waves of the sea and birds. On weekends you might find a party of kids and adults skating and ice boat sailing! Pretty exciting!
